Tempe Festival of the Arts

If you're looking for something to do this weekend check out the annual arts Festival in Tempe.

Check out this article from the AZ Republic about the event:

http://www.azcentral.com/community/ahwatukee/articles/2011/11/23/20111123tempe-fall-festival-arts-bring-artists-mill-ave.html

Here is more information from http://tempefestivalofthearts.com:

2011 Fall Festival | December 2-4
10am to Dusk | Admission is FREE

The Tempe Festival of the Arts consistently ranks among the Top 200 art festivals in the nation by Sunshine Artist and has received the Pinnacle Award from the International Festival and Events Association. The spring and fall events each attract nearly 225,000 visitors to the Mill Avenue District over the course of a 3-day weekend.

Quality artists are fundamental to the success of the event. Each year, the Festival receives nearly 1,000 applications from artists across the country. From these applicants, a jury comprised of members of the local art community selects the top artisans in each category to participate in the Festival. During the Festival, a new jury then selects the best overall artist and the top artist in each category.

Participants are separated into 18 different artistic categories for judging, ranging from woodwork to photography to ceramics and even wearable art. More than 400 artist booths line Mill Avenue and the surrounding streets presenting unique, and hand-made artwork that offers visitors a distinctive shopping experience.

While the Tempe Festival of the Arts focuses on visual art and the artists that create it, there also is a wide variety of other activities for guests to enjoy. Live entertainment provides fun for festival-goers. Performances throughout the venue keep audiences in high spirits throughout the day. In addition to the Festival Jazz Stage, street performers, vendors, sponsor exhibits and entertainment booths are set up for the amusement of Festival visitors. Visit the Arizona Wine Festival for tastings and sales by the glass, bottle, or case. And, enjoy The Art of Beer featuring local microbrewery sampling and sales. In addition to arts and entertainment, the Tempe Festival of the Arts offers support to the Tempe community. A portion of the proceeds raised at the Festival benefits local Tempe charities.

At the Kids Innovation Station children will experience their own hands-on art making free and take home their masterpieces, sponsored by SPIKE Beverage.

In addition to arts and entertainment, the Tempe Festival of the Arts offers support to the Tempe community. A portion of the proceeds raised at the Festival benefits local charities.

Recently one of our clients told me,

"I've been renting this home for 7 years, and I've finally found my cleaning crew. Some of the other guys... they wouldn't even show up!"

Dependable. That's a word we used frequently in our first ads on Craigslist.

We'll never leave you hanging, you can trust us to show up at the right date and time.

Our Customers

Creative House Cleaning appreciates our customers, and not just because you decided to choose us as your house cleaning service.

Without you it wouldn't be possible to hold our first "Art Supplies 4 September" campaign.

That's why we don't ask for you to donate, just being our customer or client is enough.

Thank you.

Why Art?

Why do I feel that art is so important in a young person's life?

As a mother of an 7-year-old boy I know the joy, and the worries, that come with being a parent.

And it's pretty simple, we all hope for one thing:

We all want our kids to have a better life than we did. So after reading about the recent cuts in funding for education in Arizona, I decided I couldn't sit on the sidelines anymore.

As an artist who spent her childhood in Central Phoenix, I have personally experienced the power of art to keep a young person out of trouble and give them direction in life.

So this is my open letter about why I started "Art Supplies 4 September"

Art Supplies 4 September

Not only do we strive to provide top quality house cleaning services... Creative House Cleaning's mission is to support art and young artists in Phoenix, AZ.

With that in mind we're launching our first annual "Art Supplies 4 September" campaign. Our goal is to raise over $10,000 worth of art supplies for three schools in Phoenix. Over 45% of the kids that go to these schools live in poverty, and art is one of the best ways to keep these young students on the right track.

Stay tuned to this blog, or follow us on Facebook, for more information and the latest news about our first "Art Supplies 4 September" campaign...

Will we reach our goal?

Why Creative House Cleaning?

One of our missions is supporting art in Phoenix, AZ... thats why we call ourselves "Creative House Cleaning"

We're starting to put together a campaign to raise money and art supplies for area schools, and with the recent budget cuts its more important than ever:

"The latest round of cuts to the Arizona Commission on the Arts will mean less money for museums, theaters and orchestras and less arts education in schools.

But some leaders in the arts community are not as concerned about the fiscal impact of reducing the state's annual appropriation from $665,000 to zero than about the intangible impact.

"The big thing is the statement this makes," Phoenix Art Museum director Jim Ballinger said. "When you zero something out, either intentionally or unintentionally, the statement that that carries with it from the Legislature is that arts and culture are not important to the people of Arizona. . . .

"That kind of spirit may be more damaging than the actual dollars lost."

The way we clean...

A customer recently told us:

"I like the way you guys clean"

This is the best compliment we could receive, and it's not just elbow grease. It's all part of the Quality Assurance and cleaning methods that we work so hard on.

The Little Things

“It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.” - John Wooden

Monday, February 21, 2011

Tip #1 Be Comfortable

It's your home! Don't worry about the messes that have to be cleaned up. Dont clean up before your house cleaning service arrives. Go about your business once they do arrive. Don't be afraid to point out anything that was missed.

Your house cleaning service should be reliable and never miss an appointment. They should be friendly but professional.

Basically, be comfortable with your house cleaning service. If your current house cleaning service doesn't live up to these standards, call us at 602-341-3317 or schedule your appointment online at www.creativehc.com

Friday, February 18, 2011

Tip #2: Attention to Detail

Your house cleaning service is human, and nobody is perfect. But Creative House Cleaning takes pride in not missing anything and has developed a system of cleaning with the goal of making sure nothing is overlooked. Attention to detail is our #1 goal, and the details are the difference between an average and a top quality, professional house cleaning.

Thursday, February 17, 2011

Tip #3: Hands and Knees

Many franchises like Molly Maids only offer light cleaning and house keeping. But sometimes you need a little elbow grease, and Creative House Cleaning takes pride in removing tough stains and big messes. So make sure your house cleaning service isn't afraid to put down the mop and scrub that spot the old fashioned way.

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Tip #4: Your Satisfaction is Guaranteed

Your house cleaning service should not only offer a guarantee, they should honor that guarantee. At Creative House Cleaning we provide all of our customers a chance to inspect our work when we're done, and we provide multiple ways for you to reach us. You'll never call us to find our number disconnected, and you can always reach me at tariel@creativehc.com

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Tip #5: Supplies

Find out if the house cleaning service is going to bring their own supplies. Not only does Creative House Cleaning bring their own supplies, we're also happy to use any specialty products you like used on your home.

Friday, February 11, 2011

Tip #6: Like Burger King "Have it Your Way"

Your the boss. Don't be afraid to ask questions or make requests when showing your house cleaning service what to clean.

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Tip #7: Take advantage of discounts

Creative House Cleaning and most other house cleaning services will offer you a discount on regular house keeping services after your initial visit. Take advantage of bi-weekly or monthly services to get the best deal on keeping your home clean.

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Tip #8: Don't pay an hourly rate

Most companies that go by a hourly rate charge $20 - $25 per hour. And they'll send a 3 person team to clean your home, meaning you're paying $60 - $75 an hour to get your home cleaned.

And if you're looking to pay $10 an hour for one person to clean your home, you get what you pay for. This person will have no interest in developing their cleaning methods or quality assurance.

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Tip #9: Beware of the Franchise

You'll be paying for the franchise fees and extra costs associated with owning a franchised business like Molly Maids. Like home cooking, nothing beats your locally owned house cleaning service!

Monday, February 7, 2011

Tip #10: Don't Clean for the Cleaner

It's our job to clean your home. Get the full satisfaction of hiring a house cleaning service by letting us do all of the work. We don't mind!

Don't clean up for the house cleaner...

Phoenix Deep Clean (NEW!)

This new service is what sets us apart from all of the other house cleaning services. Phoenix is a desert, so we've developed a method of cleaning that focuses on removing the dust and dirt that collects in your Phoenix area home.

That might seem like common sense for any maid service here in the Valley, but most of our competitors are franchises who follow cleaning methods developed on the East Coast or in California.

The "Phoenix Deep Clean" is what the other companies call an Initial Visit, except we're about $40 cheaper than our competition!

Creative House Cleaning charges $70 - $100, depending on the size of your home, and this is what a Phoenix Deep Clean means:

All Rooms
Removal of all stains and messes. Dust picture frames, knickknacks, ceiling fans and
lamps. Dust and polish all woodwork, doors, and shelves. Vacuum carpets. Wash and dry
hard-surface floors, including scrubbing of any heavy stains or concentrated dirt. Remove
pet hair. Clean all furniture and tables. Empty, clean, and deodorize wastebaskets.

Kitchen
Clean appliances, counters, cabinets, table and chairs. Clean, scrub and sanitize sinks.
Clean and sanitize countertops and backsplashes. Clean the range top and refrigerator
top and exterior. Clean microwave oven inside and out. Wash floor.

Bathrooms
Clean, scrub and sanitize showers, bathtubs and sinks. Clean and sanitize vanities,
backsplashes and toilets. Clean mirrors. Polish chrome. Wash floors and tile walls.
Deodorize.

Spring Cleaning (NEW!)

We now offer a "Spring Cleaning" service for anyone who needs more than what a traditional cleaning would offer. The package starts at $175, but if you shop around you'll see that Creative House Cleaning offers one of the lowest prices in Phoenix for this kind of service.

Here's what you get with a Spring Cleaning:

- Removal of all trash including large items
- Organization and /or removal of large amounts of clutter
- Scrubbing of walls, baseboards, and ceilings (if below 10')
- The cleaning of window blinds, windows, and porches
- Laundry, dishes, deodorizing, and whatever else is needed
- Donate any unwanted items to a local charity of your choice

Plus our regular "Phoenix Deep Clean"!
